FAQ
WHAT ARE SERVICES LIKE?
Our services are usually 75 minutes, and dress is pretty casual. Music is usually upbeat and contemporary; a mixture of remade hymns and newer songs. The foundation of our teaching is the Bible. The general atmosphere of the room is kind, friendly, and encouraging. P.S. If you’re a first time guest, be sure to stop by the info central desk in the lobby for a special gift!
WHAT IS THERE FOR MY KIDS?
We have kids programming, birth - 5th grade, during our 9:15 & 11:00 a.m. services. We have a self check-in system located in the first hallway to the right after you come in the main entrance, and if you are new, someone will help assist you with the process.
We use Orange Curriculum for all of our family ministry. Our Sunday morning experience will include music, teaching, games, snacks, and crafts. We think your child will love our kids ministry!
WHAT IS THERE FOR MY STUDENTS?
Middle School meets on Sunday mornings during the 11:00 a.m. service in our Go Center Loft located upstairs for a time of teaching, small groups, and fellowship. High School students are encouraged to attend one service and serve the other on Sundays. Both High School and Middle School meet on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for gym time, fun, giveaways, music, and food. To find out more, call the Student Ministry Office at 662-393-2445.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
One of the greatest ways to get involved is by joining a volunteer team. Teams of people serve students, kids, guest services, worship, tech, and many other ministries. We are always looking for another teammate. The easiest way to get plugged in is by visiting our volunteer page to fill out a form to begin the process.
HOW DO I JOIN THE CHURCH?
Church membership classes are taught every few months; usually 4-6 a year. During our “Exploring Membership” class, you can expect a 2-hour breakfast with a staff member to walk through our vision, our ministries, staffing, and how we function.
HOW DO I JOIN A GROUP?
We have LifeGroups that meet during the spring and fall semester. These groups meet all over Desoto County, usually in homes, for about 2 hours at each gathering. Visit the LifeGroups page for more information.
WHAT DENOMINATION IS COLONIAL HILLS AFFILIATED WITH?
We are part of the Southern Baptist Convention. We are a little more contemporary than a typical SBC church, but we are in alignment with their key teachings, beliefs, heart, and commitment to missions.
